Job summary

McFly & Brown in ’s-Hertogenbosch is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to drive technically complex, customer-specific machine projects from concept to release. You will own the technical direction, create initial 3D concepts and coordinate engineers across disciplines.

The role combines hands-on engineering with project leadership in an international setting, overseeing scope, costs and planning while ensuring manufacturability and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable technical discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience as a Project Engineer, Lead Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer in high-tech machinery or complex industrial machine building.
• Ability to translate commercial customer requirements into specifications and manufacturable machines.
• Ability to create 3D designs and guide engineers while monitoring progress.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of machine projects and ensure concepts can be turned into manufacturable machines.
• Perform technical sanity checks after the sales phase against budget, planning and requirements.
• Gather information with the Project Manager and translate requirements into a technical concept.
• Create the initial machine design in 3D and determine work for Mechanical, Hardware and Electrical Engineers.
• Provide technical direction to engineers and ensure designs are released to production on time.
• Monitor costs, risks and engineering changes to improve standardisation and reduce lead times.
