The role combines hands-on engineering with project leadership in an international setting, overseeing scope, costs and planning while ensuring manufacturability and on-time delivery.
High-Tech Machinery · ’s-Hertogenbosch Region · Technical project ownership from customer requirements to machine release · maximum of €6,000 gross p/m
As Lead Project Engineer, you are the technical driving force behind complex, customer-specific machine projects for international high-tech markets. You become involved once a sales concept takes shape and translate commercial agreements and customer requirements into a technically feasible machine. You combine project responsibility with hands-on engineering: creating the initial 3D concept yourself, coordinating engineers and controlling technical quality, planning and costs. With several projects running simultaneously, you know how to maintain overview and set the right priorities.
You take technical ownership of machine projects and ensure that a concept sold to the customer can actually be turned into a reliable, manufacturable machine.
You will join an international high-tech machine builder with more than 40 years of experience developing specialised plating equipment for industries including semiconductors, solar and connectors. Its machines use electroplating processes to apply extremely thin layers of metal. More than 800 machines have already been delivered to customers across over 30 countries.
The Dutch organisation consists of approximately 45 employees and acts as the knowledge centre for development and design, sales and project management. Machine assembly takes place in Asia.
Within Order Engineering, you will join a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 professionals, including Lead, Mechanical, Hardware and Electrical Engineers. Engineering capacity in Malaysia is also being expanded, creating close international cooperation and occasional travel to Malaysia.
The projects are technically complex and highly varied. Machines are based on established platforms and standards, but with a library of approximately 150,000 components and numerous customer-specific options, virtually every project is different. Projects also overlap: while one machine moves into production, you may already be starting the next project while simultaneously handling technical questions from production. It is an environment that suits someone who can set priorities, make decisions and maintain technical overview.
