Job summary

GEODIS CL Netherlands B.V. is seeking an experienced Lead Solution Design Engineer to lead the Solution Design team in the Netherlands and design tailored logistics solutions for clients.

You will guide project teams on design options and ensure quality, while coordinating with Business Development and Key Account Management to meet client needs. You will promote knowledge sharing, drive continuous process improvements, and ensure compliance with internal procedures and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working and thinking level.
• At least 5 years of experience in solution design/logistics engineering and 3 years in team management.
• Detailed knowledge of logistics processes and integration with transport and customs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Visio, Word; Power BI and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all activities of the Solution Design team and ensure comprehensive reports to management.
• Guide your team in developing design options and validate these to meet quality standards and client requirements.
• Create an optimal work environment and promote team motivation by organizing regular team meetings.
• Conduct selection and onboarding processes for new employees and support their professional growth through personal coaching and external training programs.
• Continuously develop and improve the GEODIS solution design methodology by standardizing work methods and outputs.
• Ensure effective coordination with other departments and streamline project and commercial tasks related to Business Development and Key Account Management.
• Promote knowledge transfer within the Solution Design team and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish processes to ensure quality according to applicable laws, internal procedures, and ISO standards.
• Translate Business Excellence policy into practical processes and initiate improvement proposals where needed.
• Prepare for reviews and audits, both internal and external, regarding solution design processes.
• Work independently on Solution Design projects and deliver high-quality logistics solutions that meet client needs.
• Conduct detailed analyses of client requirements and develop innovative logistics concepts to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure project objectives are achieved through effective use of available resources and technologies.
• Ensure all team members act according to the STS-QSE policies of our Group and Division, emphasizing operational excellence.
