Job summary

FairPlay Engineering is seeking a Lead Instrumentation Engineer for offshore and energy projects in the Netherlands. You will lead instrumentation teams, drive detailed engineering, and deliver high‑quality specifications, diagrams, and FAT activities from concept to final delivery.

You will oversee greenfield automation/telecommunication work, ensure compliance with standards, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with electrical and process disciplines for integrated system design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams of instrumentation engineers and designers through complex detailed engineering in offshore/energy environments.
• Hands-on expertise in greenfield Automation and Telecommunication detailed engineering.
• Strong knowledge of HV substation design and interfacing with instrumentation and automation systems.
• Proven capability in preparing specifications, Technical Bid Evaluations, and leading FAT for SCADA/DCS systems and telecoms.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of instrumentation engineers and designers through offshore and energy projects from concept to detailed design.
• Own development and quality of instrumentation deliverables (cable lists, block diagrams, layout drawings, termination diagrams, hook‑up drawings).
• Oversee greenfield Automation and Telecommunication detailed engineering across all project phases.
• Prepare and evaluate specifications and Technical Bid Evaluations for instrumentation and automation systems.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing for critical systems including SCADA and DCS and telecoms (CCTV, PAGA, LAN, WiFi, radio, Fire and Gas).
• Ensure deliverables comply with client specs, standards, and project quality requirements.
• Provide mentorship and collaborate with electrical/process teams for full system integration.
