Job summary

Workwize seeks an experienced software engineer to join our Amsterdam team. You will work with Laravel and React, building JavaScript/Typescript, PHP, HTML5, CSS and MySQL 8 applications, while mentoring peers and steering initiatives across multiple product teams.

You will thrive in a dynamic, hybrid environment, communicating clearly with non-technical stakeholders and driving quality through TDD and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher with background in tech or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience with Laravel and React.
• Experience building apps with Javascript/Typescript, PHP, HTML5, CSS and MySQL 8.
• Experience mentoring and supporting engineers' growth.
• Experience working with large development teams.
• Able to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven track record leading technical projects and coordinating teams of 3+ engineers.
• Strong focus on usability and UI aesthetics.
• Eager to learn and share knowledge.
• Nice to have Kubernetes, Docker and other DevOps tools.
• Advocates TDD and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in product companies with multiple teams.
• Proactive, curious, and team-oriented.
• Fluent in business English.

• At least a Bachelor with background in tech or equivalent based on work experience


• 8+ years work experience with the Laravel and React frameworks


• Experience building applications with Javascript/Typescript, PHP, HTML5, CSS and MySQL 8


• Experience mentoring and supporting the professional growth of fellow engineers


• Experience working with large development teams


• Clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences


• Strong track record of leading technical projects and coordinating teams of 3+ engineer


• Passionate about usability, user experience, beauty and elegance of UI's


• Eager to learn, discuss and share knowledge with the rest of the teams


• Nice to have: knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and other tools user in DevOps


• Absolute fan of TDD and CI/CD pipelines


• Background in product-based companies with multiple product and engineering teams


• Proven track record of driving engineering initiatives that impacted other teams or the wider organization


• You're an engineer, always interested in new technologies, pushing your boundaries and challenging others.


• You're fluent in business English, both written and verbal
