Job summary

Workwize is hiring a Lead, Laravel focused full-stack engineer in Amsterdam. You will guide architecture and own backend/frontend development with Laravel and React, mentoring engineers and aligning teams of 3+ developers to deliver high-quality features.

You will shape reusable APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and ensure superb usability and performance across a global platform used by thousands of users in over 100 countries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in tech
• 8+ years of experience with Laravel & React
• Experience building applications with Javascript/Typescript, PHP, HTML5, CSS and MySQL 8
• Strong track record leading technical projects and coordinating teams of 3+ engineers
• Experience mentoring engineers and working with large development teams
• Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
• Proactive, user-focused with strong UI/UX sense
• Nice to have: Docker, Kubernetes familiarity
• Background in product-based companies with multiple product/engineering teams
• Proven impact on engineering initiatives across teams

About the Role

We're looking for Lead, Laravel focused full-stack engineer to join our product team as Lead, Full Stack in Amsterdam. We're a company in hyper growth fase, with a robust product that thousands of people use to setup their remote workspaces.

We're looking for someone who will able to join our team of both remote and hybrid engineers working on both front-end and back-end positions in making the right architectural decision, and bringing our platform to the next level.

Together with your team you will work on building best-in-class product experiences for customers. You will be working together with the team create and design your own re-usable APIs and components.

Our core platform is built on Laravel (backend) and React.js (frontend). We're constantly coming up with new features to continue building our platform and expand our product offering.

Required Skills

• At least a Bachelor with background in tech or equivalent based on work experience
• 8+ years work experience with the Laravel and React frameworks
• Experience building applications with Javascript/Typescript, PHP, HTML5, CSS and MySQL 8
• Experience mentoring and supporting the professional growth of fellow engineers
• Experience working with large development teams
• Clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Strong track record of leading technical projects and coordinating teams of 3+ engineer
• Passionate about usability, user experience, beauty and elegance of UI's
• Eager to learn, discuss and share knowledge with the rest of the teams
• Nice to have: knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and other tools user in DevOps
• Absolute fan of TDD and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in product-based companies with multiple product and engineering teams
• Proven track record of driving engineering initiatives that impacted other teams or the wider organization
