Job summary

CG Resourcing Ltd in the Netherlands is sourcing an experienced Lead Estimator for a major civil engineering project in Rotterdam. You will lead the estimating team, coordinate activities, and ensure robust, compliant cost estimates.

Responsibilities include developing WBS, unit-rate build-ups and maintaining cost databases, while delivering proposals within client deadlines. A degree in engineering and experience on large civil projects are required.

Job description

My client is a leading international contractor who work on major construction projects throughout europe and the rest of the world. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced lead estimator to work on a major civil engineering project that has been newly awarded in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The role will include;

• Hands on lead, coordinating all activities required to develop accurate, robust and commercially sound cost estimates.
• Establish and maintain the estimating strategy, methodology, assumptions and pricing basis for the tender, ensuring consistency, traceability and auditability of all estimating deliverables.
• Deliver compliant, professionally prepared commercial and technical proposals within client-defined deadlines.
• Develop the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and detailed unit rate build-ups for labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors and indirect costs, ensuring a fully substantiated estimate.
• Develop, maintain and continuously update cost databases, benchmarks and productivity norms based on market intelligence and historical project data.
• Analyse contract documents, technical specifications, drawings, quantity take-offs and employer requirements, identifying cost drivers, risks, opportunities, assumptions and exclusions.

Candidates should have a degree in engineering or an associated subject and must have experience of working as an estimator on major civil engineering and construction projects.
