Job summary

TU Delft’s QuTech Electronics team seeks a Team Lead Electronics to drive advanced instrumentation for quantum research. You will lead a small team of three specialists, contribute hands-on to design, realization and support, and align efforts with researchers while guiding the team’s growth.

The role combines technical leadership with teaching responsibilities, including developing courses for researchers and supervising HBO-level interns.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in Electronics (or equivalent) or a physics background with electronics.
  • Leadership experience managing small technical teams.
  • Hands-on, analytical mindset with quick technical solutions.
  • Ability to plan high level system architectures.
  • Willingness to learn Dutch.
  • Teaching experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instrumentation for quantum labs, home-built or off-the-shelf.
  • Advise researchers on instrumentation and identify improvements.
  • Drive short and long-term projects by translating research needs into electronics.
  • Create roadmaps, definitions, and requirements for delivering electronics.
  • Conduct independent electronics research for quantum labs.
  • Stay informed on electronics market related to quantum research.
  • Coordinate team activities within projects.
  • Maintain an extensive catalogue of previously developed electronics.
  • Represent and promote the team within the organization.
  • Participate in organizational or technical working groups, committees, or project teams.
