Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Lead Engineer (Operations) for the Edge Data Center team, overseeing the globally distributed edge estate. The role focuses on uptime, incident response, and standardizing operations across sites from The Hague to Copenhagen.

You will drive automation, lead major incidents, and partner with modernization workstreams to ensure new platforms are operable from day one.

Qualifications

Total IT infrastructure experience: 15–20 years.
5–8 years in a senior lead or equivalent role operating enterprise virtualization, compute and backup platforms at scale.
Hands-on experience with globally distributed data center services across multi-region estates.
Proven track record leading operations, major incidents and vendor relationships at scale.
Demonstrated depth across the full stack with credibility in escalation.

Responsibilities

Own the operational health and availability of the globally distributed edge estate against SLAs.
Lead major-incident response and resolution with cross-functional coordination.
Set and enforce operational standards, runbooks and change discipline across all sites.
Act as the senior technical escalation point and primary vendor interface.
Translate operational reality into clear leadership reporting for governance.
Drive automation and self-healing to reduce manual toil.
Partner with modernization/refresh workstreams to land operable platforms.
