Job summary

CGI Eindhoven seeks a Lead Data Engineer to design modern cloud-native data platforms using AWS and Databricks, powering analytics and AI across industries. You will mentor engineers and influence best practices within the Data & Analytics practice.

You will design data lakes/warehouses, build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, and shape data models and governance while collaborating with architects and stakeholders in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Experience with cloud-native data platforms
• Strong knowledge of Data Engineering, ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, and Data Warehousing

Join CGI Eindhoven as a Lead Data Engineer and help design modern AWS and Databricks-based data platforms that power analytics, AI, and business innovation. Work on impactful projects across multiple industries, mentor engineering teams, and shape cloud-native data solutions using cutting-edge technologies, all within the High Tech Campus Eindhoven ecosystem.

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will design and build modern cloud-native data platforms that support analytics, AI, and data-driven decision-making. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders on complex data challenges across sectors such as government, financial services, infrastructure, energy, and industry.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will play a key role in mentoring colleagues and shaping best practices within our Data & Analytics practice.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design and develop Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Lakehouse solutions.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
• Design data models, data quality, and governance solutions.
• Implement cloud-native data architectures on AWS.
• Develop event-driven and serverless solutions.
• Support analytics, BI, AI, and Machine Learning initiatives.
• Coach Data Engineers and contribute to architecture and design decisions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience with cloud-native data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Data Engineering, ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, and Data Warehousing.

Experience with:

Cloud

• AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS/Fargate, Step Functions, SNS/SQS)

Databases

• PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server or similar relational databases
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra.

Highly Desired

Databricks & Modern Data Platforms

• Databricks

• Knowledge of Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or similar platforms.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a related field.
