Job summary

EY in Amsterdam hires a Lead Data Architect to strengthen data engineering and AI-ready capabilities, translating business needs into scalable architectural solutions.

You will design robust data warehouses, data lakes/lakehouses, and ELT/ETL architectures, lead teams, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to set standards. Hybrid work and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data architecture or analytics platform design and implementation.
• Experience in a client-facing role in a consultancy firm.
• Experience with data warehousing, data lake, data lakehouse, and ELT/ETL architectures.
• Experience in architectures supporting AI use cases (ML, GenAI, AgenticAI).
• Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake technologies.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing and data modelling.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.
• Dutch language proficiency is a plus.
• Experience in AWS and/or GCP is a plus.
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g. financial services) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust data‑warehousing, data‑modelling and scalable platform designs.
• Define AI‑ready data platform components including ingestion, orchestration, storage and compute layers.
• Provide architectural leadership, oversight and governance across delivery teams.
• Translate business requirements into actionable and scalable architectural solutions.
• Engage senior stakeholders and influence strategic technical decisions.
• Drive architectural patterns, standards and best practices across teams.
• Coach engineers and junior architects, raising the technical bar of the wider team.
