Job summary

Biosynth Netherlands is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support downstream peptide production in a cleanroom environment. You will perform purification, lyophilization and sample analysis, working closely with other peptide technicians to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Responsibilities include operating purification equipment, maintaining records, and complying with ISO 9001 and GMP-API where applicable. A hands-on, detail-oriented team player with lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • MBO or HBO professional education in related field (e.g., chemistry or equivalent).
  • Good practical and theoretical knowledge of relevant discipline.
  • Experience working in lab environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Daily tracking and record keeping of peptide tasks/projects.
  • Process and execute orders within agreed time windows.
  • Operate and maintain peptide instrumentation.
  • Independently run purification equipment.
  • Lyophilization, aliquoting and pooling of peptides.
  • Analyze peptide data using LC/MS and MW calculations.
  • Perform ion-exchange on peptides in downstream production.
  • GMP activities in cleanroom; support non-GMP as needed.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 quality system and GMP-API where applicable.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

Laboratory Technician Downstream-production

Purpose of the Role

Working alongside other peptide technicians, the Lab Technician is responsible for the Downstream process of peptide production under ISO and GMP regulations (in cleanroom). The main activities in this role are analysis and purification of peptides, lyophilization of peptides and shipment preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute lab activities related to projects.
  • Daily tracking and record keeping of current peptide tasks/projects.
  • Take responsibility to process and execute orders within agreed time windows.
  • Operation and maintenance of peptide instrumentation.
  • Able to independently run all purification equipment.
  • Lyophilization, aliquoting and pooling activities.
  • Understand MW calculations and is able to analyse crude and purified peptide data independently using LC/MS.
  • Performing Ion-exchange on peptides.
  • For GMP-production activities are carried out in a cleanroom environment.
  • Support non-GMP production when needed.
  • Employee work in accordance with the installed ISO 9001 quality system and, if applicable, work in accordance with GMP-API (incl. good housekeeping) – and ensures products and analytical results are accurate and reliable for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate requirements

  • MBO or HBO professional education in related field (e.g., chemistry or equivalent)
  • Good practical and theoretical knowledge of relevant discipline
  • Experience working in lab environments would be preferred
  • Proven team player, with collaborative work style: Demonstrated experience of working cross-functionally.
  • Results-oriented mindset: solution-focused attitude; ability to recognize potential problems; capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the go.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Hands-on mentality.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of English verbal and written.
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch would be preferred
  • Software skills, e.g., Office, SAP, Intrexx
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to safely handle hazardous chemicals and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
