Job summary

Technip Energies in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, seeks a Jr Mechanical Engineer specialized in refractory, painting and insulation to join the Furnace Engineering team. You will support senior engineers by preparing drawings, material lists and technical specs, and help ensure safety and quality throughout projects.

Starting date October 2026. The role offers learning opportunities, mentoring, and exposure to refractory materials, insulation technologies and painting processes across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Learning ability and willingness to develop expertise in painting, insulation, and refractory standards.
• Ability to work under supervision and analyze information, collaborate in a team.
• Familiarity with heat transfer calculations.
• Proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings, material lists (MTOs) and technical specifications with senior engineers.
• Promote and ensure adherence to HSE regulations in daily activities and project execution.
• Learn and gain knowledge about standards, materials and methods; progress toward overseeing refractory, painting and insulation engineering.
• Provide advice and support to engineers applying refractory, painting and insulation materials.
• Maintain contact with suppliers to stay updated on new refractory, painting, and insulation technologies.
• Review customer technical requirements for refractory, painting, and insulation specifications.
• Coordinate with lead engineers across disciplines on material selections and designs.
• Perform vendor document reviews to ensure suitability of materials.
• Communicate material requirements with other engineering disciplines and construction teams.
• Initiate testing programs for materials to improve furnace-specific designs.
