Job summary

Hitachi Energy Netherlands is hiring a Junior Technical Project Engineer in the Grid Integration division to design high-voltage substations and grid stabilization systems across the Netherlands. You will collaborate with customers, internal teams, and external partners to deliver innovative solutions on time and within budget.

The role requires a bachelor or master in electrical engineering, a strong interest in HV substations, and knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, IEC 61850, and BIM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in electrical engineering or related field.
• Interest in high-voltage substations, protection & control systems.
• Basic knowledge of power system protection and HV technology.
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM and MS Office.
• Excellent communication in Dutch and English; willingness to visit sites.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering and delivery of HV substations and grid stabilization systems from tender to handover.
• Develop and maintain deliverables: SLDs, protection & control schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts.
• Perform engineering calculations for protection, layouts, lightning protection, and dimensioning.
• Specify equipment: protection relays, CTs/VTs, SCADA/RTU, HV substation components.
• Coordinate interfaces with primary, secondary, civil, telecom, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Coordinate with suppliers and panel builders; support FAT/SAT and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/EN standards, Dutch grid codes, and QHSE standards.
• Engage with customers and project stakeholders; contribute to continuous improvement.
