Overview
Company: Petrobras Netherlands B.V. (PNBV) is a subsidiary of Petrobras – Petróleo Brasileiro S.A., focused on managing exploration and production activities in oil and gas blocks outside Brazil. Based in the center of Rotterdam, PNBV also oversees the completion of legacy operations involving the procurement, sale, leasing, and rental of materials, equipment, and drilling platforms for oil and gas projects.
Finance Team
The Finance team at PNBV interacts closely with our shareholder Petrobras, other companies within the Petrobras system, and international financial institutions. The team is strongly focused on cost management, financial performance optimization, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information, always maintaining strict compliance with internal policies and international standards. The Finance Department plays a critical role in supporting PNBV’s oil and gas operations worldwide, providing financial expertise for complex international projects, managing cross-border transactions, and ensuring all financial activities are conducted efficiently, transparently, and in line with local and international regulations.
Summary
Support the execution of finance activities related to the Company’s global oil and gas exploration and production activities. This includes assisting with cash flow monitoring and reporting, investment and project support, financing of cash deficits, administration of credit facilities, treasury operations, and trade finance activities, in accordance with internal policies and applicable international standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring the company’s cash flow, including supporting the investment of cash surpluses and the financing of cash deficits for exploration projects, under supervision.
- Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial and cash position reports for management, always under guidance.
- Assist in the collection and organization of data for management reports and financial statements, supporting senior and accounting staff.
- Support the review and reconciliation of financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
- Assist in monitoring the status of loan facilities and credit limits for trading transactions, providing necessary documentation and updates.
- Support treasury activities, including payments, collections, and the correct and timely clearing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Assist in the issuance and monitoring of Parent Company Guarantees and Letters of Credit for trading and exploration activities, under supervision.
- Collaborate with and support other departments (operations, legal, procurement, external consultants) to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial, accounting and tax information, as directed.
- Provide support in the preparation of information for audits and regulatory compliance, under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Contributes to the identification of process improvement opportunities and support the implementation of best practices in financial operations.
- Assist in the preparation of budget data and forecasts, under supervision, and support senior analysts in controlling the budget of company subsidiaries.
- Support the preparation of ad-hoc analyses, such as financial ratios or project NPV, as requested by senior analysts.
Qualifications
- A valid work permit or EU/EEA citizenship
- Entry to mid-level position requiring initial experience in finance activities.
- Prior exposure to multinational organizations or the oil and gas industry is desirable.
- Fluent English (oral and written); Portuguese or French are considered differentials. (TOEFL and/or IELTS Certification is a plus).
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills, knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Power BI are a plus.
- High ethical standards and commitment to compliance.
- Highly organized and can manage multiple stakeholders, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Highly motivated, collaborative, a team player with solid interpersonal skills.
