Job summary

Albert Heijn, a major retailer in the Netherlands, is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to build AI-powered products for Merchandising and Sourcing. You will help category managers and Retail Specialists make data-driven decisions that shape shelf space and promotions.

Join a diverse team and contribute to production-ready models using Python, Spark, and cloud platforms while collaborating with engineers, analysts and business stakeholders across AH Technology.

Qualifications

• Master in Data Science, Econometrics, Computer Science or other relevant studies.
• At least 2 years of experience as Data Scientist, preferably in an eCommerce environment.
• Based in The Netherlands and able to work in Dutch context.

What will my role be?

In your role as a Junior Data Scientist you will be working in the Merchandising and Sourcing domain within our Data Science & Analytics department. There are many exciting ongoing and upcoming projects in the Merchandising & Sourcing domain. In these projects you will build AI products that help category managers and Retail Specialists to do their day-to-day jobs. You could for example help further shape an algorithm that decides which products earn a place on every meter of shelf in every one of our stores. Or you could sharpen the model that decides how much space each category gets, so every store reflects what customers actually want. We work closely with category managers, engineers and analysts and others in the organization to deliver value for millions of customers every single day.

While you will hone your craft in your day-to-day work, you will also have the opportunity to shape our way of working within the team and facilitate knowledge sharing across the organization. • At least 2 years of experience asData Scientist, preferably within aneCommerceenvironment


• The ability to explain complex matter in an effective way to varied audiences


• Advanced experience inPythonandSpark


• Experience in productionizing maintainable solutions based onPackages instead of Notebooks


• Experience inCloud Platforms, Microsoft Azure Databricks and visualization tools are a big plus


• You are based in The Netherlands
