A complete application in a minute
Tailored resume and cover letter, ready to send.
Apollo Group in the Netherlands is seeking a Junior Applications Developer to turn ideas into practical software for our production floor and global users.
You’ll develop internal manufacturing and business applications using React, Python, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs, building features for project tracking, scheduling and workflows. You’ll also create integrations and automations to connect different parts of the business.
At Apollo, we don’t develop software just for the sake of software. We build tools that help our people design, plan and manufacture equipment that is used by customers all over the world.
We are looking for a Junior Applications Developer who is curious, hands‑on and excited about turning ideas into working solutions.
You don’t need ten years of experience. What matters more to us is that you like to build things.
Maybe you created an application during your studies. Maybe you automated something because doing it manually annoyed you. Maybe you have a GitHub project, a small website, an API, a dashboard or a tool that started as an experiment. We’d love to see it.
Your day-to-day workplace will be at our Apollo location in Coevorden, the Netherlands, where you will work closely with the people who actually use the applications you develop.
That means getting away from your screen sometimes. You’ll walk onto the production floor, see how our conveyors are built, talk to colleagues about what’s slowing them down and translate those challenges into practical digital solutions. Your work won’t disappear into a backlog somewhere – you’ll be able to see it being used around you.
At the same time, you will be part of an international Apollo development environment, working on solutions that can support our organisation worldwide. Your Engineering Manager is based in the United States, so English will be the main language in your international collaboration – and your interview will therefore also be conducted in English.
You’ll help us develop and improve our internal manufacturing and business applications.
You’ll work with technologies such as React, Python and PostgreSQL, developing features for project tracking, scheduling and production workflows. You’ll also create integrations and automations that connect different parts of our business.
Some days you’ll be writing code. Other days you’ll be talking to the people in production to understand why a process isn’t working as efficiently as it could. For us, both are part of being a good developer.
We’re interested in someone who is genuinely curious about software, technology, manufacturing and how businesses work.
You learn by doing, aren’t afraid to figure things out yourself and enjoy taking ownership of something you’ve built. You can talk to developers, but you’re just as comfortable asking someone on the production floor: "Show me how you currently do this."\
A STEM degree is welcome, but hands‑on experience can be just as interesting to us. You may have 0-3 years of development experience – and personal projects count.
A foundation in Python, web development, SQL, Git and REST APIs will help you get started. Experience with React, TypeScript or FastAPI is a plus, but you don’t need to tick every box.
Because here, as a junior developer, you can get surprisingly close to the impact of your own work.
You can build something, test it with the people who need it, improve it and then see it running in our operation.
You’ll get exposure to custom software platforms, automation and integrations, while also learning how an international manufacturing company actually works.
And as Apollo operates internationally, the solutions you help develop in Coevorden have the potential to go far beyond Coevorden.
