Afterservice is seeking a web developer to help reduce electronic waste by improving our platform. You will work in a small team in Eindhoven on Ruby on Rails, AlpineJS, TailwindCSS, PostgreSQL and Redis, contributing to features, testing, and deployment.
We value willingness to learn, English proficiency, and a passion for scalable software. The role is non-remote and requires living in the Netherlands, with a path toward permanent contract and future growth opportunities.
Are you an enthusiastic web developer? Do you want to help make the IT sector more sustainable and grow along with a scale-up?
Please note: we work from our office in Eindhoven and we only hire people who already live in the Netherlands. This is not a remote role and we do not support relocation, so applications from abroad will not be considered.
WHY AFTERSERVICE?
Here you get the chance to make a technical difference and to be involved in every step of software development, in a small team with plenty of guidance. We are looking for someone who wants to think along about solutions for our customers and who wants to invest in their own knowledge. We offer an open working environment with room to learn and grow, for example towards product lead or Integration Manager.
Just finished your studies? Then you are in the right place. Whether you come from a vocational college, a university of applied sciences or a research university does not matter to us. We look at what you can do and what you want to learn.
WHAT DOES AFTERSERVICE DO?
We reduce electronic waste by helping companies get the most out of their hardware. Our customers use our system to keep track of which devices are used by whom. Their employees can order, replace and repair devices themselves. By using that data well, we recommend choices that extend the life of a device instead of replacing it.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a developer at Afterservice you work on our platform: from coming up with new features to testing them and rolling them out to customers. Our system is written in Ruby on Rails, with AlpineJS for front-end interaction. We use TailwindCSS for styling, PostgreSQL as our database and Redis for background job processing. Newer work includes using data to make recommendations, machine learning for predictions, and building integrations with the systems our partners use. You work in a team of six, so help is close by while you still run your own projects.
