Job summary

Basic-Fit seeks a Senior App Developer to shape how the mobile experience scales for millions across Europe. You’ll own the mobile architecture, partner with Product and Design to deliver high-quality experiences, and drive stable iOS/Android releases while mentoring the team.

You’ll stay current with React Native trends, mentor peers, and influence long-term engineering direction in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Has demonstrable experience with at least part of our tech stack and loves sharing that knowledge
• Understands how to manage risk and isn't shy about taking ownership
• Thrives in a fast-moving environment where unnecessary rituals are kept to a minimum
• Is eager to explore AI tooling in the development process
• Is eligible to work in the Netherlands (we don't sponsor new work visas, but existing sponsorships can be transferred)

Responsibilities

• Working closely with Product and Design to build high-quality mobile experiences
• Taking ownership of the mobile application architecture and keeping the app scalable and maintainable
• Constantly improving the release process and ensuring stable iOS and Android releases
• Monitoring and improving app performance, stability, and crash rates
• Keeping up with the React Native/mobile ecosystem and constantly evaluating recent trends while scoping them to Basic-Fit context.
• Mentoring other developers and sharing (mobile) best practices

Your Role

As a Senior App Developer, you're not just shipping features off a roadmap. You're a pivotal engineer who shapes how the team works, raises the bar on quality, and helps define our long-term engineering direction. You'll be working in Tilburg alongside a talented mix of React (Native) developers, Node.js developers, Product Owners, Designers - and even a Talent Coach dedicated to your personal growth.

Your tasks:

• Working closely with Product and Design to build high-quality mobile experiences
• Taking ownership of the mobile application architecture and keeping the app scalable and maintainable
• Constantly improving the release process and ensuring stable iOS and Android releases
• Monitoring and improving app performance, stability, and crash rates
• Keeping up with the React Native/mobile ecosystem and constantly evaluating recent trends while scoping them to Basic-Fit context.
• Mentoring other developers and sharing (mobile) best practices

Your tech stack:

We build our applications with React Native, TypeScript, Tailwind, Storybook, Service Workers, Next.js and Playwright. Our APIs run on Nest.js, TypeScript, Prisma, Postgres, Redis, Azure EventGrid and Azure ServiceBus. To keep everything running, we use Heroku, Azure DevOps, New Relic, Akamai and GitHub Copilot.
