Barak Capital Market Making in Amsterdam seeks a curious Junior Trader to support all aspects of our trading desk operations. You will help execute algorithmic trading, monitor positions, and ensure systems run smoothly in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

We value a STEM or Econometrics degree, Python or Java knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

Qualifications

• University degree in STEM or Econometrics.
• Strong interest in trading and financial markets.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and math skills.
• Working knowledge of Python or Java.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work independently and successfully manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute algorithmic trading in accordance with the trading desk’s objectives.
• Monitor and reconciling trading positions consistently throughout the shift.
• Perform post-trade analysis on a variety of algorithmic trading strategies.
• Assist quantitative traders in performing research for new trading strategies.
• Continuously monitoring trading systems, ensuring they operate efficiently with minimal downtime or disruption.
• Acting as a first line of defense in troubleshooting and resolving technical and operational issues during trading activities.
