Job summary

Schuberg Philis is seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to develop core business features for our banking customer and elevate delivery capabilities in a DevOps environment. You will design, build, and run Java-based microservices and APIs that power critical processes, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.

You will contribute to end-to-end delivery, collaborating with DevOps teams and stakeholders while maintaining code quality, tests, and automated pipelines to keep

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java experience (preferably Java 17+)
• Solid experience with Spring Boot
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and system integrations
• Experience with Java-based microservices in production
• Track record of writing testable, maintainable, high-quality code
• Experience in a professional development team (code reviews, CI/CD)
• Open to engineers with strong background in other languages (e.g. Kotlin, .NET, C++) with at least ~3 years of recent Java experience

Responsibilities

• Design, build and run Java-based micro-services and APIs that support business‑critical banking processes
• Work end-to-end: from clarifying requirements and refining user stories to development, testing, deployment and operations
• Collaborate with DevOps teams, architects and stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable and scalable solutions
• Contribute to improving engineering practices: code quality, testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and automation
• Help keep production stable with focus on reliability, security, observability and incident prevention
• Stay up to date with modern engineering practices and bring ideas to improve the platform and our ways of working
