Job summary

Vector Talent is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer based in Rotterdam for a hybrid role. You will keep global infrastructure running, provide 2nd and 3rd line support across servers, networks, and end-user devices, and maintain documentation.

You will work with Windows Server/Active Directory, VMware/Hyper-V, Azure/M365, and on-premise and cloud components, ensuring compliance in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• 3+ years in IT infrastructure or systems administration.
• Solid experience with Windows Server and Active Directory, hybrid AD with Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage (NAS/SAN) and backup tools such as Veeam.
• Good knowledge of networks (LAN, WAN, switches, routers), plus some Linux exposure.
• Experience in a regulated environment (GxP, GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, ISO) is a big plus.
• Comfortable in an ITIL-driven environment, with strong problem-solving skills and a service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support on hardware, software, servers, network and end-user issues, across sites and time zones.
• Install, configure and maintain servers (physical and virtual), network components, PC hardware and software.
• Run routine maintenance, patch management, and backup and restore.
• Manage Active Directory (users, groups, shared resources, GPOs) in a hybrid on-premise and Azure/M365 setup.
• Monitor infrastructure and applications daily, spotting risks early and following them through.
• Handle service requests from the business and resolve them in good time.
• Write and maintain clear technical documentation in line with SOPs and quality standards.
• Be part of a team-based out-of-hours support model as it develops.

How You Will Add Value

As IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will contribute to:

• Keeping infrastructure reliable across servers, workstations, networks and end-user devices, globally
• Raising the bar on documentation so systems are clear, supportable and audit-ready
• Supporting compliance in a GxP-regulated environment, including QA and audit queries
• Working closely with internal and partner engineers to keep agreed actions on track

About You

You’re a hands-on infrastructure engineer who likes digging in and learning. You’re comfortable working with people you don’t share an office with. And you document things properly because it’s how you work, not because someone told you to.

• 3+ years in IT infrastructure or systems administration
• Solid experience with Windows Server and Active Directory, ideally hybrid AD with Entra ID and Microsoft 365
• Experience with virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V), storage (NAS/SAN) and backup tools such as Veeam
• Good knowledge of networks (LAN, WAN, switches, routers), plus some Linux exposure
• Experience in a regulated environment (e.g. GxP, GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, ISO) is a big plus. Pharma isn’t essential if you’ve worked somewhere documentation really matters
• Comfortable in an ITIL-driven environment, with strong problem-solving skills and a service mindset
