Job summary

NXP Semiconductors is seeking an IT Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation across enterprise IT. You will automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of networks, storage, servers, virtualization, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities include IaC using Ansible, Python scripting, and building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, compliant operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools, particularly Ansible.
  • Advanced scripting and programming skills in Python.
  • Experience building and managing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including Networking, Storage, Windows Server and Linux administration, Virtualization, and Cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and operational best practices.
  • Experience working in complex enterprise environments.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation solutions across our enterprise IT infrastructure landscape. In this role, you will leverage your broad infrastructure expertise to automate and streamline operations spanning networks, storage, servers, virtualization platforms, cloud environments, and operating systems (Windows and Linux). Your work will contribute directly to reducing operational workload, improving system reliability, increasing deployment consistency, and accelerating infrastructure delivery across the organization. You will play a key role in moving towards zero‑downtime operations, self‑service functionality, and self‑healing platforms. By implementing intelligent automation solutions, you will empower teams to deploy and manage their infrastructure efficiently while ensuring reliability and scalability. Together with the rest of the team you will also be responsible for the operational activities related to the management of the planforms the Automation Platforms & Services team manages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure automation solutions across multiple technology domains.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of: Network infrastructure Storage platforms Physical and virtual servers Virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.) Public and private cloud platforms Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Ansible and related automation frameworks.
  • Create reusable automation scripts and tools using Python and other scripting languages.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab for infrastructure and platform automation.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to implement automated operational processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Broad knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including: Networking technologies (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls) Storage systems Windows Server and Linux administration Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, KVM) Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and operational best practices.
  • Experience working in complex enterprise environments.
