Job summary

Ericsson GmbH in Maastricht is seeking a Network Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain IP infrastructure throughout the project lifecycle, from lab validation to deployment and handover.

You will build automation frameworks with Python and Ansible, work with APIs, and guide customers on architecture choices while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting in the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of IP networking, infrastructure engineering, or network automation experience.
• Proven experience developing automation solutions using Python and Ansible.
• Experience with automation frameworks, APIs, and modern DevOps methodologies.
• Strong design, implementation, migration, and operational support skills in complex environments.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated network solutions within IP infrastructure environments.
• Translate high-level designs into robust implementation plans and configurations.
• Develop and maintain network automation frameworks using Python and Ansible.
• Build, configure, and maintain lab environments for testing and validation.
• Execute network changes in compliance with change management and operational standards.
• Analyze performance, conduct capacity planning, and identify optimization opportunities.
• Support deployment and operations teams with advanced technical expertise.
• Lead technical discussions with customers on architecture and automation strategies.
• Develop technical documentation, solution designs, and customer proposals.
• Drive continuous improvement and share knowledge across teams.
