Job summary

Priogen is seeking a dedicated meteorologist to support intraday trading in Central Western Europe. The role focuses on nowcasting, evaluating weather models, and providing short-term insights to improve trading strategies.

The candidate will predict wind and solar production for the CWE and trade in intraday and imbalance markets, contributing to Priogen's P&L. A master’s degree in meteorology with 1–3 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Oceanic Science, or similar field.
• 1–3 years of work experience in nowcasting weather variables.
• Interest in understanding and predicting weather and willingness to trade to contribute to P&L.
• Trading experience in intraday market is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Nowcasting and predicting wind and solar production for CWE for the next five hours from data and meteorological views.
• Trading in intraday and imbalance markets in CWE based on meteorological and market views.
• Improving and expanding nowcasting and meteorological tools to support trading (manual and algorithmic).
• Providing meteorological insights for the short-term horizon and evaluating weather models.
• Analyzing risks of different meteorological setups and feeding into trading decisions.
