Job summary

Damen invites applications for an AI Adoption Intern based in Gorinchem, starting in October. You will join the Damen AI Team to develop scalable AI solutions and gain hands-on experience in enterprise AI adoption within a global shipbuilding organization.

You will engage with business stakeholders to identify use cases, prototype automation workflows using Power Platform and Copilot Studio, and document outcomes for production handover.

Qualifications

• MSc or advanced degree student in CS, Business Analytics, Information Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders across divisions to identify and scope AI use cases.
• Rapidly prototype automation agents, workflows, and low-code solutions based on business requirements.
• Develop and iterate on Copilot agents, Power Automate flows, and tools using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform and Azure.
• Use development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex to accelerate prototype development.
• Document use cases, technical designs and prototype outcomes in a structured and reproducible way.
• Present prototypes and findings to business stakeholders and the team.
• Support the handover of validated prototypes to technical teams for production deployment.
• Benchmark Damen’s low-code AI approach against industry best practices and emerging tools.

Required Skills & Experience

• MSc or advanced Bachelor’s student at the intersection of Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Management or a related field
• Hands‑on experience or strong interest in low‑code development platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform or Copilot Studio
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or OpenAI Codex
• Ability to write basic scripts or automation logic in Python or JavaScript
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured technical solutions
• Fluent in English
