Job summary

nhow Amsterdam RAI zoekt een Meeting & Events Stagiair die gastvrijheid hoog in het vaandel heeft en zich graag onderdompelt in de beleving van nhow als social hub. Je leert alles over het organiseren van meetings en events in een groot hotel, van kleine boardroom tot productlancering met open bar.

Je bent ingeschreven in hospitality management of een gerelateerde opleiding en verblijft minimaal 4 maanden. De stage biedt praktische ervaring op de werkvloer en diverse trainingsmogelijkheden.

Qualifications

• Je volgt een opleiding in hospitality, events of vergelijkbaar en deze stage is vereist door je school.
• Vloeiende Engelse taalvaardigheid is vereist.
• Je kunt zowel zelfstandig als in team werken en hebt gastgerichte instelling.

Responsibilities

• Verantwoordelijk voor de uitvoering van meetings en events op de vloer van een groot hotel.
• Voorbereiding en opzetten van vergaderruimten, begroeting van gasten en troubleshooten tijdens events.
• Cateringservice, opruimen en afbreken van evenementen.
• Note: hands-on operationele stage op de vloer, geen kantoor-gebaseerde evenementenorganisatie.

nhow Amsterdam RAI is a social and multicultural hub for globetrotters, business travelers, and Amsterdam locals. The iconic building, facing the various wind directions, symbolizes the melting pot the city of Amsterdam has always been and continues to be. The impressive 91-metre-tall building is located in the Zuidas district, right next to the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, offering its guests a dynamic headquarter and home base.

For this iconic social hub, we are looking for a Meeting & Events Intern who is enthusiastic, proactive, and is ready to take part in a dynamic design hotel. You will be responsible for creating the nhow experience in the hotel for every guest.

What part will you play in creating the unforgettable?

As a Food & Beverage Intern - Banqueting you will learn all the ins-and-outs of running various meetings and events in a large hotel. This can range from a small boardroom meeting for 10 pax, an all-day meeting for 80 pax including lunch and breaks, to a product launch for 200 pax with an open bar and walk-in dinner in the evening. You will be involved in the preparation for the meeting, the set-up of the meeting room, meet & greet the guests, troubleshooting during the events, food and drink service, clearing up and break down of the events.

Note: that is an operational hands-on the floor internship and not office-based events organizing internship.

What makes you the perfect fit for this bold journey?

• You are currently enrolled in hospitality management, events, or similar course and this internship is required by your school;

• A good command of English;

• You can work independently as well as in a team and you have a guest-oriented attitude;

• You are stress resistant, you have good communication skills and you have a flexible attitude in terms of working hours and work pressure;

• In addition, you are innovative, resourceful, have a commercial attitude and are available for at least 4 months.
