Job description

Internship - Legal Affairs: Legal Operations

"I'm passionate about legal operations and the idea of working smarter, not harder. Combining my legal knowledge, passion for technology, and project management skills to help HEINEKEN Legal Affairs realize its lofty ambitions is what makes my internship unique!"

The internship

Our Legal Operations internship has been running since 2022 to great success. The internship covers the full spectrum of legal operations duties including: technology selection and adoption, change management, communications, cross-functional collaboration, problem solving, and a whole lot more! You'll be exposed to a ton of different topics and no two days will be the same!

  • You'll be at the heart of shaping how our Legal function works with the rest of the business. This isn't just an internship, it's a chance to make a real impact. You'll help uncover what our legal team needs and turn those insights into practical solutions that drive collaboration across departments. Expect hands-on experience in legal operations, exposure to cross-functional teamwork, and the opportunity to see how strategic decisions come to life. If you're curious, proactive, and eager to learn, this role will give you a front-row seat to the inner workings of a dynamic legal environment.
  • You will be introduced to an agile way of working as part of a multidisciplinary scrum team, providing an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience with cutting-edge tech tools that are transforming the legal sector and driving improvements in both legal processes and operational efficiency.
  • You will support: the implementation and adoption of our Contract Lifecycle Management Solution as well as our Legal AI assistant working with operating companies around the globe, fine tuning our use of legal technology, spend management, process automation, coordination of Legal function meetings, and much more!
Your new team and workplace

Legal Operations provides strategic planning, financial management, project management, and technology expertise that enables HEINEKEN's legal professionals to focus on providing legal advice. We are a small (but mighty!) team within Legal Affairs and report directly to the General Counsel while supporting the legal function across the globe.

During your internship, you'll have every opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as an organization, not just within Legal Operations, but across departments. We trust and empower you to work with an entrepreneurial mindset. At HEINEKEN, we love bringing the outside world in and welcome fresh, new ideas with open arms. Of course, we'll make sure you get the guidance that suits you.

The unique you!

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we're looking for you! Energy, drive and the ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN. In addition, you will be:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors or master’s program related to Legal
  • Passion about process automation, technology, and problem solving
  • Experienced with the Microsoft Office suite (a must!). Experience with legal specific solutions like CLM, legal AI assistants, e-billing, document management, and more is a plus but not required

Even if you feel you don't meet all the criteria, we encourage you to apply. An internship is the perfect opportunity to learn and grow!
