Job summary

ABN AMRO Bank N.V. offers an internship in Amsterdam within the Corporate Banking CRO Risk Control team. You will assist international risk managers on strategic risk projects, helping improve controls and resilience.

As a student, you will conduct risk analyses, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and gain hands-on experience in policy reviews, risk events, and data visualization, while exploring AI-driven prompts and smart prompts.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Available for at least 4 days per week.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and data analysis/visualization.
• Interest in banking, risk management and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Support Risk and Control Self-Assessments for Corporate Banking processes, performing desk research, reviewing Internal Audit findings, assessing risk events and identified issues throughout the process, and preparing recommendations.
• Coordinate communication with internal stakeholders and subsidiaries.
• Support Policy and Standards review.
• Prepare risk insights to management and committees.
• Review control effectiveness results from monitoring activities; identify risks, trends, and vulnerabilities; support timely escalation and remediation.

Join our risk control team

Are you a motivated student with an interest in banking and risk management? Join the Corporate Banking Risk Control team as an intern, supporting strategic risk projects and improving risk controls. You’ll work with 11 international risk managers and gain valuable practical experience.

Your job

Join the Corporate Banking CRO Risk Control team as an intern. Share ideas, question existing processes, and support long-term resilience. Your work includes:

• Support Risk and Control Self-Assessments for Corporate Banking processes, performing desk research (i.e. review Internal Audit findings, assess risk events and identified issues throughout the process), analysing trends and preparing recommendations.
• Coordinating communication with internal stakeholders and subsidiaries.
• Support Policy and Standards review.
• Preparing risk insights to management and committees.
• Review control effectiveness results from monitoring activities. Identify risks, trends, and vulnerabilities. Support timely escalation and effective remediation.

Depending on your interests and academic background, it is possible to choose a topic to explore in depth. These projects cover different risk instruments and non-financial risks, including ICT risk, Fraud risk, Regulatory risk, Third-party risk, Compliance or Data risk.

Your profile

A clear communicator with strong attention to detail. Someone who takes initiative and enjoys learning new things. A confident contributor who can work well independently as well as with colleagues and has interest in banking and financial services. Meeting the following requirements:

• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Studying at HBO or WO level
• Available for at least 4 days per week
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) and data assimilation, analysis and visualization skills
• Enthusiastic about using AI and Copilot and creating effective SMART prompts.
