Job summary

The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) in Amsterdam seeks a Finance Assistant to support treasury operations, accounting, and project administration. Working under the supervision of senior accounting staff, you will help manage cash, process payments, and ensure donor-compliant financial execution within an international UN framework.

The role involves maintaining AFAS PROFIT records, preparing project invoices, and assisting with financial reporting and audits.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary education and a professional qualification in Accounting.
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (EU-IFRS).
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting/treasury.
Experience with AFAS PROFIT and treasury/ accounting software is an advantage.
Familiarity with multi-currency environments is an advantage.
Experience or familiarity with AML/CTF checks and compliance processes is an advantage.
Excellent command of written and spoken English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

Process payment orders and instructions in banking systems.
Download, process, and reconcile bank and credit card statements.
Record incoming and outgoing cash flows; support basic data entry.
Maintain treasury and cash-related records; monitor cash forecasts where needed.
Prepare project payments, invoices, statements, and schedules.
Assist in donor reporting and project financial inputs; support audits.
