Job summary

Van Caem Klerks Group in Amsterdam is seeking an International Trader to grow our global business. You will identify new suppliers and customers, negotiate deals, and manage relationships with existing partners while travelling to meet clients and attend trade fairs.

The role requires English fluency, preferably additional languages, a relevant degree, strong relationship skills, and willingness to travel up to 25% of time.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English required.
• Arabic or Mandarin is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in commercial/sales management or related field.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced multicultural setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.
• Valid driver’s license (B category).
• Residence in the Netherlands, preferably Amsterdam area.

Responsibilities

Van Caem Klerks Group is an international trading company operating within the global market. Van Caem Klerks Group buys and sells A-branded goods in a variety of categories, namely: Liquor, Fragrance & Cosmetics, and FMCG (Toiletries, Food, and Professional Haircare). We are a service-oriented company with over 50 years of experience in the import and export industry. Our head office is in the heart of Amsterdam, with an international office in Curacao. We have two of our own warehouses strategically placed near the Port of Rotterdam, which helps us provide the best and most efficient service.

Van Caem Klerks Group has a turnover of over 300 million euros. Despite this, we maintain an informal and flat organizational structure that prioritizes employee growth and progression. We pride ourselves on maintaining an international focus, with representation from over 30 nationalities among our 150 employees.

Van Caem Klerks Group consists of the following departments: Trade, Trade Support, Legal, Finance, Treasury, ICT, HR, and the Warehouses. We are working towards being a data-driven company and therefore are investing in various software and expansion of the teams: CRM, Cloud, Business Development, Business Intelligence, and E-Commerce.

We are currently expanding our business and are therefore looking for an International Trader to join our team.

Key responsibilities

As an International Trader, your main goal is to find and grow business opportunities. Your job is to increase sales by finding new suppliers and customers and taking care of the relationships you already have. Therefore it is essential that you are a keen business-relationship builder. You will analyze requests from different suppliers, and you will be responsible for sales negotiations. You will manage the financial and account information of suppliers and customers. Furthermore, you also manage the purchase and sales orders in collaboration with the colleagues from Trade support. This role also involves frequent travel to meet with clients and attend trade fairs.

Requirements

• Fluency in English.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships.
• Proficiency in working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural setting.

• Willingness to travel internationally for up to 25% of your working hours.
• Possession of a valid "B" category driver’s license.
• Residing in the Netherlands, preferably in the Amsterdam area.
