Job summary

TMC, a dynamic private equity-backed technology company on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, is looking for an International Controller. You will own the month-end close for three to four European countries and act as the finance partner to local teams and management.

You’ll train and coach finance colleagues across Europe, travel a few times per year, and help professionalise processes as the business scales toward €1 billion in revenue.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of finance experience, mostly as an (assistant) controller, financial accountant and/or junior business controller.
• Strong communication skills; you build relationships easily, also at a distance.
• A pro-active mindset; you spot what needs to happen and pick it up before you are asked.
• Analytically strong, accurate and independent, and comfortable in a fast-changing environment.
• Willing to travel within Europe a few times a year.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close: responsible for the month-end close, reporting and analysis for 3–4 European countries.
• Business partnering: sparring partner for local finance teams and managers/CEOs.
• Train local teams: coach finance teams to improve reporting speed and quality.
• In-person contact: travel to countries a few times per year to strengthen collaboration.
• Treasury & cash management: manage supplier and salary payments, bank accounts and FX deals.
• Analysis and board reporting: prepare analyses and board slides and flag variances.
• One-off projects: handle topics like dividend payments as they arise.
• Process improvement: help professionalise finance processes during growth.

International Controller for an international, private equity-backed technology company on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. A hands-on role with real ownership of the month-end close for three to four European countries, in an organisation that grows and moves fast.

The role offers plenty of room to grow, into both international and local finance and management positions.

The team

You work closely with the local finance teams and with the managers and CEOs of the smaller entities in the countries you support. You are their sparring partner on finance, and within group finance you are a key link for reporting and analysis.

Within the office in Eindhoven, you have the opportunity to connect with 10+ finance colleagues on a daily basis. From the Local finance team, group team as the international controlling team. The culture is very open, hands-on and forward-looking.

What you’ll do as International Controller

• Month-end close: you are responsible for the month-end close, reporting and analysis of three to four countries in Europe.


• Business partnering: you are the sparring partner for the local finance teams and for the managers and CEOs of the smaller entities in those countries.


• Training the local teams: you train and coach the local finance teams so their reporting gets faster, cleaner and more consistent.


• In-person contact: a few times a year you travel to these countries to meet the local business in person and strengthen the collaboration.


• Treasury & cash management: you prepare the supplier and salary payments, manage the bank accounts (BNP Paribas), run day-to-day cash management and FX deals, and support funding and factoring for the growing business.


• Analysis and board reporting: you prepare the analyses and the board slides for finance (two decks) that management steers on, and you flag what stands out between actuals and budget.


• One-off projects: you pick up one-off topics as they come up, such as dividend payments.


• Process improvement: you help the finance organisation professionalise and sharpen processes while the company grows fast, for example improving the margin reports and the cash request process.

What you bring

• 3+ years of finance experience, mostly as an (assistant) controller, financial accountant and/or junior business controller


• Strong communication skills; you build relationships easily, also at a distance.


• A pro-active mindset; you spot what needs to happen and pick it up before you are asked.


• Analytically strong, accurate and independent, and comfortable in an environment that changes fast.


• Willing to travel within Europe a few times a year.


• Fluent English is required; English is the working language across the countries.


• You want to be part of the TMC community beyond the numbers, joining the social side too, from the BBQ and sporting events to the annual TMC weekend.

What you get

• A fixed annual salary of €50K–€60K (including holiday allowance).


• A 10% bonus scheme (5% based on company performance, 5% personal).
