Job summary

FMTC Safety Group is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to own the financial processes for our France and Belgium teams from our office near Amsterdam in Badhoevedorp. You will oversee month-end closing, financial reporting and day-to-day administration, including payroll for France and Belgium.

The role demands accuracy, cross-border collaboration, and a proactive approach to improving financial operations. Fluency in French and English, plus a solid accounting foundation, are essential.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Over 2 years of experience in accounting, finance administration or a similar role.
• A solid grasp of accounting principles, month-end closing and reconciliations (AP/AR).
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with accounting systems (preferably Exact Online).
• Fluency in French and English is a must.
• Experience with French or Belgian accounting, payroll or HR administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close: Lead the process for France and Belgium, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Master the details: Prepare accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Streamline financial operations: Manage accounts receivable, supplier invoices and bank reconciliations, while supporting VAT, payroll and insurance-related accounting.
• Collaborate across borders: Coordinate payroll and HR administration with external providers, handling employee documentation, onboarding/offboarding and insurance matters.
• Drive clarity: Support weekly AR and cash-flow reporting and maintain a deep understanding of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
