Job summary

FMO is seeking an intern for Knowledge Management to contribute to our KM strategy and help embed tools into organizational workflows. You will design training materials, tutorials, and guides to support tool adoption across the organization, and support AI governance initiatives.

You will develop SharePoint sites, dashboards, and knowledge hubs while analyzing usage metrics and collaborating with the KM team.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a field related to Knowledge Management, Change Management, AI, Business Process Innovation, Communications, Marketing, Information Management, Learning & Development or related studies.
  • Proficient with Office 365 tools, especially SharePoint, Power BI, and Teams, or willing to learn new tools.
  • Interest in AI tools and human-centric/ethical AI use cases.
  • Strong writing, editing, video-making/editing, and visualization skills.
  • Affinity with FMO's mission and development impact.
  • Interest in graphic design, publications, marketing or communications.
  • Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

Job description

Summary

We are looking for an intern within FMO Knowledge Management, where you will help develop FMO as a learning organization via contributing to our Knowledge Management strategy.

Your Internship

As part of your internship, you will be involved in a variety of Knowledge Management related activities, including but not limited to the following:

  • Assist the KM team in embedding new and existing knowledge management tools into organizational workflows and processes
  • Help design and develop training materials, tutorial videos, guidance documents, newsletters, presentations, blogs, and learning modules to support tool adoption across the organization
  • Assist with KM's contribution to the wider FMO AI governance strategy, particularly on the adoption of our AI tool and promoting human-centric AI use.
  • Contribute to the creation of best practice guides and communication materials to effectively onboard and support teams using new KM tools
  • Develop and update SharePoint sites, knowledge hubs, pages, lists, news, and blogs
  • Help to analyse and collate SharePoint usage metrics reports
  • Review, test, and help improve KM products, quick wins, and solutions

By the end of the internship, you will have developed practical skills in knowledge management, digital collaboration, and organization learning, and contributed to various high-impact KM initiatives. You will work closely with the KM team and receive regular coaching and feedback.

Our Offer

To apply for this internship, you must be:

  • a third- or fourth-year HBO or MSc student, currently enrolled in a programme in The Netherlands.
  • eligible to receive credits (ECTs) for this internship, either for your thesis or as part of your curriculum.
  • available for a period of 6 months, 4 days per week (32 hours) preferably starting around October 2026.
  • living in The Netherlands.
Your Team

The Strategy department plays a crucial role in supporting and facilitating the rest of the organization with achieving FMO's ambitious goals. The department consists of 4 teams being: Strategic Planning; Sustainability Strategy & Policy; Portfolio Management Office; and Evaluations & Knowledge Management, with in total nearly 30 colleagues.

This internship role will be within Knowledge Management (KM), situated within the Strategy department at FMO.

  • Facilitate collaboration through accessible and well-structured knowledge

Your Background

This opportunity will be a great combination to your studies if you:

  • Are studying or have studied in a field related to Knowledge Management, Change Management, Artificial Intelligence, Business Process Innovation, Communications, Marketing, Information Management, Library Studies, Learning and Development, Development Studies, (Development) Economics, Finance.
  • Are proficient with Office 365 tools, particularly Microsoft SharePoint, Power BI, and Microsoft Teams, or you are open and able to learn (new) technologies.
  • Have an interest in, and (preferably) experience with using AI tools, as well as exploring human-centric and ethical AI use cases.
  • Have writing, editing, video-making/editing, and visualization skills.
  • Have an affinity with FMO's mission, interest in the field of (global) development, developing countries, and impact investing
  • Have an affinity to work on projects related to graphic design, publications, marketing and/or communications.
  • Are proficient in English.
