Job summary

East Carolina University in North Carolina is hiring an Interlibrary Loan Assistant on a student hourly basis. You will help process physical and electronic materials to share with students, staff, faculty, and partner libraries worldwide.

Responsibilities include sorting incoming packages, scanning materials, processing ILL requests, and locating articles from electronic holdings while ensuring compliance with licenses and copyright rules. Schedule is typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, weekdays.

Qualifications

• ECU student in good standing and eligible to work on campus.
• GPA minimum of 2.0 as required by the position.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Open and sort incoming packages from USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
• Prepare materials for patron use and package for shipping.
• Pull items from library collections as needed.
• Scan books, journals, microfilm to create PDFs.
• Process requests using ILLiad and other library software.
• Locate articles from electronic holdings and share with patrons.
• Assist with other tasks like shelving and invoicing.
