Job summary

Huxley is seeking an experienced Head of IT to shape the technology landscape for a fast-growing international retail organization. This strategic leadership role requires driving IT strategy, overseeing key initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and enabling digital transformation across the business.

You will lead a high-performing IT team, collaborate with stakeholders, and deliver scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions in a hybrid Amsterdam setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• Extensive IT leadership experience in retail/store environments.
• Proven track record leading IT teams and delivering complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, enterprise applications and systems integration.
• Experience driving digital transformation and organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead IT projects from planning through implementation to support growth.

• Ensure reliability, security, and scalability of IT landscape including cloud services and databases.

We are looking for an experienced Head of IT to lead and shape the technology landscape of a fast growing international retail organization. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for driving IT strategy, overseeing critical technology initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and enabling digital transformation across the business. You will lead a high performing IT team and work closely with stakeholders across the organization to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and future growth plans.
• Lead and oversee IT projects from planning through implementation, delivering solutions that support operational and commercial goals.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, business processes, and customer experience.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the IT landscape, including infrastructure, networking, cloud services, databases, and enterprise applications.
• Monitor system performance and proactively address risks, incidents, and service disruptions.
• Oversee the implementation, integration, and maintenance of enterprise technology platforms.
• Establish and maintain strong cybersecurity policies, controls, and best practices.
• Manage IT budgets, assets, software licensing, and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with business leaders to understand technology requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high performing IT team while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in IT leadership roles within a retail and store based environment.
• Proven track record of leading IT teams and delivering complex technology projects.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and systems integration.
• Experience driving digital transformation and organizational change initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across both technical and non technical audiences.
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience developing and motivating high performing teams.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, ITIL, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
• Comfortable operating in a fast paced, international environment.
