Job summary

Sempra Infrastructure seeks an Instrument Technician to inspect, maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation systems at the site. You will work with process control equipment, read P&ID diagrams, and support commissioning activities to ensure reliable operations and environmental compliance.

The role requires hands-on experience with calibration tools, electrical safety, and using diagnostic instruments to verify instrument performance and control system integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of process instrumentation and controls.
• Ability to read P&ID, loop sheets, and control narratives.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, repair and calibrate process automation equipment for reliable control.
• Read P&ID’s and specs to determine installation and functional requirements.
• Support walkdowns, commissioning, and safety protocols.
• Perform regular PM testing and instrument performance verification.
• Operate and troubleshoot SIS and other control systems with test equipment.
