Job summary

ThoughtLabs Belgium is seeking an Infrastructure Automation Architect to design enterprise automation platforms and guide organizations toward sustainable automation practices in the Netherlands.

You will lead governance, maturity assessments, and platform engineering initiatives, working with clients such as Schiphol, ProRail, and DICTu to translate strategy into implementable solutions. This role combines hands-on automation with organizational change and requires strong consulting skills.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience with enterprise automation platforms and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience evaluating and integrating AI-assisted development tools into workflows.
• In-depth knowledge of best practices and governance frameworks.
• Expertise in setting up automation maturity assessments and roadmaps.
• Knowledge of GitOps, policy-as-code, and secrets management at an enterprise scale.
• Experience in guiding cultural change and the adoption of automation.
• Strong consulting skills and the ability to translate technical strategy into implementation.

As an Infrastructure Automation Architect, you design automation platforms based on the Ansible Automation Platform and advise clients on their automation strategy. You define automation architectures that integrate with existing tools and workflows, design governance frameworks and standards, and perform automation maturity assessments. You work with clients such as Schiphol, ProRail, and DICTu to professionalize their automation capabilities. You guide teams in adopting automation best practices, build reusable content libraries and workflows, and help organizations develop an automation-first culture. You combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking regarding platform engineering and organizational change.
