Research

1. Product Lifecycle Management

Within PES – Product engineering servicing, we are currently looking for research focused on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). PLM is a holistic approach to manage product design, support, and end‑life activities of a product. PLM plays a crucial role in driving efficiency, innovation, and sustainability across industries, and your research could contribute to its future evolution within the R&D organisations of our clients.

For example, your thesis could explore how advanced AI technologies can enhance PLM processes for faster product development cycles or investigate how the user adoption of PLM could be improved through human centered design.

2. Software Development

We are also seeking motivated and detail‑oriented interns to join our software development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of high‑performance C/C++ applications that drive the cutting‑edge lithography systems at ASML. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on real‑world challenges involving system control, data processing, and performance tuning. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field who are passionate about low‑level programming and advanced technology.

3. Infrastructure & Capital Projects at Utilities

Within M&O - Manufacturing and Operations, we are currently looking for research focused on capital projects in utilities. In this role, you support utilities in driving the energy transition by developing new solutions and strategies to build new infrastructure, manage grid congestion, and optimize asset performance. It’s a chance to apply your engineering skills to deliver meaningful, high‑impact solutions. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers and gain valuable insights into the current and future challenges the energy sector is facing.

If you're interested in writing a thesis, possible topics range from AI applications in the utility sector to rethinking the construction process for large‑scale infrastructure projects, or topics related to the operation of the grid.

4. Intelligent Asset Management

Also, within M&O, we are looking for research focused on Intelligent Asset Management. You will support transforming the way our clients take care of their physical assets such as machines, buildings and equipment. You will collaborate with us to create data‑driven and intelligent solutions such as Predictive Maintenance and Asset Performance Management to improve efficiency, reduce downtime and increase sustainability while reducing maintenance costs.

5. GIS

Also, within M&O, we are looking for research focused on GIS. We currently have an opportunity to work on two topics:

  • 5.1. Vegetation encroachment: (further) developing a risk‑based model on where vegetation imposes potential risks to companies’ assets.
  • 5.2. Test automation: developing a model for test automation that is directly applicable to our clients GIS systems, and that is compatible integrate with AI.

We are looking for research and business development support to define where‑to‑play, map our capabilities, and support the growth of our opportunity pipeline. This is an opportunity to be very hands on and experience first hand the business development side of consulting. Collaborating with the wider Accenture Health & Life Sciences community, this is a chance to create bridges, define new ways of working and still have the space to conduct research into the potential of technology in the Health & Life Sciences domain. Possible topics range from IoT for hospital future readiness, AI driven pharmaceutical manufacturing, automation in hospital administration etc.

If you have a groundbreaking idea related to the abovementioned topics, whether it addresses challenges in engineering, manufacturing, or beyond, we’d love to hear about it in your motivational letter.
