Job summary

Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, is seeking a Project Engineer to manage the technical execution, planning and coordination of engineering projects from concept to completion, typically within power generation or related energy infrastructure facilities. You will ensure designs are safe and compliant, manage budgets and schedules, and provide technical support across the Netherlands.

In this role you will be supported by the Engineering Manager, travel internationally for short-term project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or energy.
• Fluent in English and Dutch, or willing to learn Dutch within a short timeframe.
• Willingness to travel internationally for short-term project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support and consultancy services to clients throughout all phases of project delivery.
• Review and coordinate technical deliverables, including design reports, calculations, specifications, drawings, and analysis reports, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare and contribute to the development of engineering deliverables such as technical specifications, design documentation, testing procedures, commissioning plans, and technical reports.
• Liaise with internal technical disciplines and Competence Centres to obtain project data, resolve engineering challenges, and ensure effective technical integration across the project.
• Lead and participate in technical and project meetings with clients, partners, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through participation in company-specific and industry training programmes.
• Manage engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including scope definition, planning, budgeting, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful project execution and delivery.
• Support project managers in achieving project objectives related to quality, cost, schedule, and safety performance.
• Ensure engineering solutions are delivered in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and client requirements.
