Job summary

Merck Boxmeer, a leading animal health manufacturing site, is seeking an Improvement Engineer to drive process optimization and support product lifecycle management within the IPT Antigen organization. You will lead cross-functional projects with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and R&D to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient production.

A structured, proactive mindset and strong stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments (pharma/biotech/food/chemical).
• Experience in GMP and/or EHS frameworks.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional improvement and transfer projects across the IPT.
• Act as Site Transfer Coordinator for product transfers.
• Support technical investigations and root cause analyses.
• Lead high-impact investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for process, quality, and operational improvements.
• Develop business cases, project plans, and implementation strategies.
• Assess regulatory and compliance impacts on manufacturing.
• Contribute to procedures, policies, and quality systems.
• Review and approve GMP-related documentation.
• Support internal and external inspections and audits.
• Analyze process, batch, and performance data for trends.
• Contribute to site quality and safety systems.
