Penta Infra is seeking an IT Functional Application Engineer to own and optimize Building Management systems across our European data centers, starting from our Amsterdam headquarters. You will work with IT colleagues and contractors to ensure maximum uptime and continuous improvement.

You will handle onboarding/offboarding, 1st-3rd line support, maintenance of BMS/DCMS/ERP, user training, and translate business needs into technical solutions while collaborating in a fast-growing, international

Qualifications

• MBO 4 or HBO level ICT degree.
• 2–5 years experience in functional application management.
• Hands-on problem-solving mindset.
• Thrive in informal, dynamic, and international work environment.
• Willing to travel abroad if needed.
• Available for 40 hours per week.
• EU work permit and reside in the Netherlands.
• Proficient in Dutch and English, with German or French as an advantage.
• Good organisational skills.
• Preferably knowledge of Agile, Scrum or Prince2 project management methods.

Responsibilities

• On-, x-, offboarding: Manage the on-, x- and offboarding process (user management) for the BMS applications in our environment.
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line Support: In cooperation with our suppliers provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support for colleagues and external suppliers.
• Maintenance: Maintaining the current applications e.g. DCMS, BMS and ERP (specific per application), also Create and maintain documentation.
• Training: Provide training to the end users of the applications.
• Proces optimization: Think about process optimization and advise the user groups, management.
• Business requirements: Translate business needs into technical solutions and implement those solutions in the application.
• Contractor management: Manage the contractor when in need of technical support.
• Knowledge: Keep track on the developments of the applications.
• Changes: Guide upgrades and patches according to the Penta Infra change process.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in Building Management systems (BMS, DCMS, DCIM, etc.), containing CCTV, access control, Intrusion detection, fire alarming and so on
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Infrastructures
• Good communication skills, within Penta Infra the primary language is English
• Good people skills and is “service”minded
• Demonstrates a proactive, problem-solving attitude and thrives in a dynamic environment
• Knowledge of data center environments is a plus

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

As a ICT Functional Application Engineer, you will play a central role within our organisation. You are the go to person in regards to all related Building Management questions, issues or requests. You will make sure that, from our headquarters in Amsterdam, the Building Management systems in our data centers keep on running, getting maintained and optimized. Our data centers are located not only in the Netherlands but also in Belgium, Germany, Denmark and France.

You will work closely with your IT colleagues but also with our supporting contractors to ensure maximum uptime of our systems.

To get started as a ICT Functional Application Engineer at Penta Infra, you should:

• have a MBO 4 or HBO level degree in the Field of ICT
• have at least 2-5 years of experience in functional application management
• have excellent problem-solving skills and a hands‑on mentality

• be available for 40 hours per week
• have a work permit for EU and be residing in The Netherlands
