Job summary

QPS Netherlands BV in Groningen is seeking a Scientist or Senior Scientist to join our Bioanalysis team and contribute to our LC-(ICP-MS) capabilities. You will develop and validate bio-analytical methods using ICP-MS, execute studies to plan and budget, and be the primary contact for clients.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioanalysis, chemistry or comparable field.
• 3+ years ICP/MS experience.
• Experience developing and validating ICP/MS assays in GLP environment.
• Proactive with strong analytical skills, able to work under pressure.
• Experience managing multiple projects with GLP/GMP guidelines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willing to be home-based in the Netherlands and work on-site in Groningen.

QPS Netherlands BV in Groningen is part of a global organization and conducts drug research for international pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. We are looking for a new colleague to join our Bioanalysis team as a Scientist or Senior Scientist and contribute to our growing (LC)-ICP-MS capabilities.

The job

The role focuses on applying (LC)-ICP/MS to bioanalysis. As a Scientist with QPS you will be instrumental in developing and validating bio-analytical methods utilizing an IC/PMS as a detector. Moreover, as a Scientist with QPS, you will be responsible for the overall execution of studies according to plan and budget. You anticipate changes of the study plan and make sure that deviations are handled correctly according to the quality system. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, work closely with colleague scientists, technicians, and the team lead, and play a pivotal part in the development of new medicines to cure human diseases.

In Our Senior/Scientist Role, You Will

• Be involved in hands-on development of (LC)-ICP/MS methods for the detection of elements from complexes, small molecules, or large molecules.
• Generate research data from analysis, report and communicate results to stakeholders in the organization and customers
• Search for scientific literature for studies and stay up to date about latest developments
• Manage multiple bioanalytical projects at the same time, and be the primary contact person for our clients
• Be overall responsible for budget, regulatory compliance and timelines of each project
• You may be asked to support hands-on bioanalysis based on operational needs
• Supervise the execution of studies according to GLP/GCP regulations and quality system guidelines

Job Requirements

Who are you?

• PhD degree in bioanalysis, chemistry, environmental chemistry or comparable field
• A minimum of 3+ years relevant working experience in using ICP/MS
• Hands-on experience with executing, developing and validating ICP/MS assays, preferably within a GLP environment (hands-on mass spectrometry experience is required)
• You are proactive, have excellent analytical skills and you can work well under pressure
• You are experienced in managing multiple projects, and you are familiar with quality guidelines according to GLP/GMP
• You have strong communication skills and business-level proficiency in both written and spoken English
• You are or willing to be home-based in The Netherlands to work on-site in Groningen.
