Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a hypervisor and virtualization specialist/architect to provide operational, engineering and architectural support for enterprise virtualization platforms in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The role covers second-line platform support up to technical leadership and virtualization architecture.

Responsibilities include monitoring, incident resolution, provisioning, patching and capacity management, with a focus on automation and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise virtualization platforms and tools.
• Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery principles.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot and optimize virtual infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, availability and performance of virtualization platforms.
• Investigate incidents involving hosts, clusters and VMs.
• Administer provisioning, configuration and lifecycle of virtual infrastructure.
• Perform patching, upgrades and maintenance of platforms.
• Support capacity, availability and resilience management.
• Troubleshoot integration across compute, storage, network, backup and DR services.
• Support migrations and infrastructure refresh projects.
• Maintain platform documentation and runbooks.
• Identify opportunities to automate provisioning and monitoring.
• For senior levels, define standards and roadmaps for virtualization.
• At L5, provide architecture leadership for private-cloud and virtualization solutions.

Your day at NTT DATA

The hypervisor and virtualisation engineer, specialist or architect provides operational, engineering and architectural support for enterprise virtualisation platforms. The role ensures that client environments remain available, secure, resilient and capable of supporting business-critical workloads.

Depending on the assigned level, the position ranges from second-line platform support through to technical leadership and virtualisation architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the health, availability and performance of virtualisation platforms.
• Investigate and resolve incidents involving hosts, clusters, virtual machines, management platforms and associated services.
• Administer virtual infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration and lifecycle activities.
• Perform approved patching, upgrades and platform maintenance.
• Support capacity, availability, performance and resilience management.
• Troubleshoot integration issues across compute, storage, network, backup and disaster-recovery services.
• Support migrations, platform consolidation and infrastructure-refresh activities.
• Maintain platform documentation, operating procedures and configuration records.
• Identify opportunities to automate provisioning, monitoring and operational activities.
• At senior levels, define virtualisation standards, reference designs and platform roadmaps.
• At L5, provide architecture leadership for complex private-cloud and virtualization solutions.

• VMware VCP or higher.
• Microsoft Azure Local or Hyper-V certification.

• Vendor-specific virtualisation and data-centre certifications.
