Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking a Hydrologist for an international engineering and geo-data consultancy in the Netherlands. The role focuses on dewatering, groundwater management, and trenching across civil and marine projects, from planning through field operations.

You will develop groundwater models, interpret field data, and support site teams to optimise dewatering performance while complying with Dutch environmental regulations. Hybrid office/site work is available on project needs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering dewatering and groundwater management projects.
• Strong understanding of hydrogeological investigations and groundwater modelling.
• Experience supporting trenching, excavation, or civil engineering projects.
• Hands-on experience with Mudflow systems/equipment.
• Experience in marine, offshore, geotechnical, or large infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of Dutch environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Experience with groundwater modelling software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading international engineering and geo-data consultancy operating across major infrastructure, marine, and environmental projects throughout the Netherlands and Europe. Due to continued project demand, they are seeking an experienced Hydrologist to support a range of dewatering, groundwater management, and trenching operations.

This role will focus on delivering hydrological expertise for complex civil and marine projects, ensuring effective groundwater control solutions and supporting project execution from planning through to field operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience operating or supporting Mudflow systems/equipment.
• Experience within marine, offshore, geotechnical, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of Dutch environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Experience with groundwater modelling software and data analysis tools.

Language Requirements

• Fluent Dutch (spoken and written) is essential.
• English language skills are highly desirable due to the international project environment.
• Initial 12-month contract with potential extension.
