Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Freelance Mechanical Engineer for a hybrid role in the Netherlands. You will design and develop mechanical systems, review drawings, and support testing and commissioning on a fast-paced project.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, has CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor), and can communicate effectively in English. Dutch is advantageous for on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience on mechanical engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Fluent English; Dutch language is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, calculations, and documentation.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with standards, quality and safety requirements.
