Job summary

Xsens is seeking a hands-on Computer Vision Engineer to advance vision capabilities in Enschede, NL, focusing on visual-inertial fusion and robust 6-DoF pose estimation. You will design VIO/SLAM pipelines, develop camera calibration routines, and collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams.

The role requires strong background in multi-view geometry, VO/SLAM, and Python/C++, with experience building real systems.

Qualifications

MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant industry or research experience; or a PhD with demonstrated hands-on system-building experience
Strong background in multi-view geometry and camera models and physics
Hands-on experience with VO or SLAM systems, and familiarity with open source frameworks
Proficiency in Python / C++
Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, probability theory, and state estimation.

Responsibilities

Design and implement state-of-the-art VIO and SLAM pipelines, combining inertial sensor data with monocular or stereo camera inputs
Develop and maintain camera models, calibration routines, and sensor synchronization pipelines across multiple hardware configurations
Apply optimization techniques and filtering methods to achieve robust and accurate 6-DoF pose estimation
Stay current with the computer vision and research landscape and assess the feasibility of integrating new techniques into Xsens products
Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to deliver end-to-end perception solutions
