Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Netherlands/Belgium service team. You will commission, install, maintain, and test high-voltage and electromechanical equipment at customer sites.

The role combines independent work with teamwork to ensure safe, reliable operation of complex energy systems. The ideal candidate holds a technical diploma (MBO or equivalent) and has at least 3 years of hands-on field service or commissioning experience.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in mechatronics, electromechanics, or electrical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on field service, maintenance, or commissioning.
• Strong practical skills: read electrical diagrams, connect wiring, assemble mechanical components.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and willingness to stop unsafe work.
• Good communication in Dutch (B1) and English (B2); willing to improve Dutch on the job.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within Belgium and/or the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Commission, install, test, and maintain high-voltage and electromechanical systems at customer sites.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to electrical and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshooting and repairs using technical drawings and diagnostic tools.
• Ensure safety standards and local regulations are met.
• Communicate clearly with customers about service work, equipment performance, and safety measures.
• Recommend product upgrades and solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
• Provide basic on-site training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Develop strong relationships with customers to secure satisfaction and repeat business.
