Job summary

VF Corporation's Distribution Center in Almelo, the Netherlands, seeks a Health & Safety and Security Advisor to create a safe, compliant working environment. You will drive health & safety, risk management and onsite security programs, coordinating with DC leadership, HR and external partners to foster a proactive safety culture.

This hands-on role requires fluency in Dutch and English, knowledge of Dutch regulations, and the ability to influence safe behaviours across shifts and teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Health & Safety, EHS or Prevention Advisor roles within logistics/warehousing, manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of Dutch occupational health and safety legislation including Arbowet, Arbobesluit, Arboregeling, RI&E and Plan of Action requirements.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform the statutory duties of the Preventiemedewerker under the Dutch Working Conditions Act and support RI&E and action plans.
• Lead and improve risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Support site security, loss prevention and asset protection activities and coordinate with on-site security and EMEA teams.
• Design and deliver Health & Safety training and awareness initiatives for employees and managers.
• Provide regular updates to management on risks, incidents, compliance and mitigation plans.

Job description

VF Corporation is looking for a Health & Safety and Security Advisor to join our Distribution Center team in Almelo, the Netherlands.

Let's talk about the role

As Health & Safety and Security Advisor, you will help create and maintain a safe, secure and compliant working environment within our Distribution Center in Almelo.

This is a hands-on operational role where your main focus will be Health & Safety, risk management and regulatory compliance, while also supporting security and asset protection activities on site.

You will work closely with DC leadership, teams on the floor, HR, Maintenance, external partners and EMEA stakeholders to strengthen safe ways of working and build a proactive safety culture.

How you will make a difference

• Perform the statutory duties of the Preventiemedewerker in line with the Dutch Working Conditions Act, including supporting the RI&E, Plan of Action and implementation of preventive measures.
• Support compliance with Dutch occupational health and safety legislation, relevant sector requirements and VF standards.
• Lead and improve risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions across the Distribution Center.
• Identify emerging risks and work with leaders to implement practical preventive measures.
• Support emergency preparedness, incident management, audits and timely closure of action plans.
• Design and deliver Health & Safety training and awareness initiatives for employees and managers.
• Partner with Operations, HR, Maintenance, the works council or employee representative body, the occupational health service, contractors and external partners.
• Support site security, loss prevention and asset protection activities, including coordination with the on-site security provider and EMEA Asset Protection teams.
• Provide regular updates to management on risks, incidents, compliance requirements and mitigation plans.

What you bring

• Proven experience in Health & Safety, EHS or Prevention Advisor roles within a logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Adequate knowledge, skills and experience to perform the duties of the Preventiemedewerker, or willingness to complete relevant training after appointment.
• Working knowledge of Dutch occupational health and safety legislation, including the Arbowet, Arbobesluit, Arboregeling, RI&E and Plan of Action requirements.
• Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours constructively.
• Fluent Dutch and English.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, VCA, ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 is an advantage.
• Exposure to security, asset protection, investigations or vendor management is a plus.
