Job summary

Tech Rise in Amsterdam is hiring a Head of IT to lead a growing IT organization. You will shape the IT strategy, build a capable team, and establish scalable processes that support rapid growth while maintaining security and compliance.

You will collaborate with business leaders, a dedicated Security team and other departments to ensure IT enables strategic objectives and reliable day‑to‑day operations across the company.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading IT teams through growth and change.

• Strong understanding of cloud environments and modern IT services.
• Experience managing budgets, suppliers and service levels.

Responsibilities

• Define and own IT strategy, roadmap and day‑to‑day service delivery.
• Build a centralized service organization with a strong helpdesk.
• Improve reliability of the IT landscape and reduce bottlenecks.
• Manage budgets and third‑party suppliers with cost/quality trade‑offs.
• Partner with business leaders and Security to align IT with company direction.

You are a leader who brings calm and clarity. You create structure where it is needed, without slowing things down. You are close enough to the technology to make sound decisions and earn the trust of experienced specialists, but your real strength lies in developing people, setting direction and getting things done.

Your profile

• You have led an IT team or department through growth and know how to build capacity before things become overstretched.
• You have managed specialists in different areas and know how to give clear ownership while keeping people working together.
• You lead by coaching, giving honest feedback and investing in your team's development.
• You have a broad understanding of modern IT, including Microsoft cloud environments, and you can ask the right questions without needing to be the expert in everything.
• You have experience setting up reliable IT services, with clear processes and agreed service levels.
• You have managed budgets and suppliers and are comfortable making trade-offs between cost, risk and quality.
• You think in long‑term plans but stay pragmatic in daily practice.
• You feel at home in an environment where security and compliance are taken seriously.
• You communicate clearly in English with technical colleagues, business stakeholders and senior management. Dutch is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with IT in manufacturing or production environments.
• Experience with international office openings or organisational changes.
• ITIL or similar training.

What you will do

You will be responsible for IT strategy, the team and day-to-day service delivery. You set the roadmap, build a strong service organisation with a central helpdesk, make the IT landscape more reliable and less dependent on individual experts, and manage the budget and suppliers. You work closely with business leaders, an independent Security team and other departments to make sure IT supports where the company is heading.
